CD Review from www.annecarlini.com: Culling the idea for this CD from watching a jazz singer named Tina "selling copious amounts" herself after a gig one day in 1998, Hazel and musicians Cormac De Barra (Irish Harp, Backing Vocals), Mario N'Goma (African Percussion) and Robbie Malone (Bass Guitar) finally got the CD pressed and we are truly blessed to have the songs in this exquisite form. After following Hazel for over 20 years I was originally interested to see where Beyond Breaking Glass would take me. I was suprised and relieved. Hazel's music has matured beyond expectation. Her life story and her music are both fasinating. Drift away in such melodies as 'Scamaill,' 'Big Brother,' 'Rebecca,' 'Blackwater Side,' and a beautiful version of 'Will You'. Give this a chance, it will astound you and you will be hooked. |
